Career Advice for My Freshman self: Take advantage of the opportunities at the college. If you have an interest or a skill you want to learn, there is likely a dedicated club/workshop to help with that– you just have to know about it. Explore events outside of your major and be aware of benefits offered specifically to your college. There are resources available to you and catered toward you as a UO student that you will never have so easily available again.

Career advice for my freshman self: Start getting involved in things on-campus as early as possible, and grow your connections and experience from there.

Career Advice: My biggest piece of advice would be to take initiative and be responsible for your own career development. Opportunities don’t just fall in your lap, so make the effort to schedule appointments with advisors and visit workshops and networking events to set yourself up for success. By starting that process early, you can avoid being caught off guard by application deadlines and instead approach them confidently and optimistically.
