EMU – SAB MARKETING OPERATIONS ASSISTANT:
The Marketing Operations Assistant is an hourly position within the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) that supports the Student Activities Board (SAB). The Marketing Operations Assistant position is focused on the day-to-day promotion and logistical/processing needs (forms, requests, calendar entry etc.) of the 5-person SAB Marketing Team.
HOURS and DURATION: Hours vary from 6-10 hours per week and are flexible to your class schedule. Position is remote for summer and hybrid for fall, winter and spring terms. The hybrid schedule will be approximately half your weekly hours in-person for office hours and team meetings in the EMU and half your hours remote. The position is a 1 year position running from July to July of the next year with the option to continue in the position for 1 or more years depending on your graduation date.
The Marketing Operations Assistant manages the operational marketing needs of the 5-person SAB Marketing Team which is composed of: (1) Student Graphic Designer, (1) Student Marketing & Social Media Coordinator, (1) Professional Staff SAB Event Assistants Team Supervisor, (1) Professional Staff SAB Arts & Culture Team Advisor & Supervisor, and (1) Student Marketing Assistant, the role detailed here.
The Marketing Assistant completes all forms and processes needed to promote SAB events on campus. These forms include: CSI Poster Route Requests, Engage Event Calendar submissions, Housing Poster Permissions, Digital Display email requests, and Tabletop Flyer email request. This position also manages the Student Activities Board consolidated Instagram page @UOsab to repost event promotions from the Social Media & Marketing Manager (see above) posts on BEseries and McMillan Gallery pages. The Marketing Assistant will also use Canva on-line graphic tool to create promotions of SAB weekly and reoccurring programs (Bingo, Trivia, Movies etc.) and hiring related posts. This position also provides hiring details and information to the Graphic Designer so they can create hiring posters. The Marketing Operations Assistant is a key member of the SAB Marketing Team and assists all members of the team in creating, promoting and maintaining a uniform and collective message of belonging for all students at SAB events. This position is critical to ensuring all operational tasks are completed to promote events in a timely and efficient manner. Tasks and requirements include:
- Work as part of the collaborative 5-person Student Activities Board (SAB) Marketing Team to promote both SAB Arts & Culture team and SAB Event Assistant team events and hiring. Attends weekly 1-hour meeting of this collaborative team.
- Attends 1-hour weekly meetings for both SAB teams: Arts & Culture and Event Assistants (2 hour total per week depending on availability).
- Manage form requests for marketing and promoting all SAB events including: Housing Poster Permission form, CSI Poster Route Request, EMU Table Top Flyer Request, Digital Display request, Engage Event Calendar submissions and updates.
- Manage @uo.sab Instagram page to promote SAB campus events and team hiring opportunities. Use of Canva on-line graphic tool to create
- Complete all forms needed to promote events on campus including: calendar entries, poster route requests,
- Holds weekly office hours in CSI Resource Room’s SAB work space. These hours are set by Marketing Operations Assistant each term around their class schedule.
- Must be enrolled and attending a minimum of 6 hours per term for undergrad students and 3 hours for graduate students.
- Attendance at SAB events is strongly encouraged (but not required) to enhance knowledge of the events and activities that are being promoted.
