Employment and duration
This is a four-week, part-time, non-exempt employee assignment. It is paid work, never commission-only. The initial assignment includes ten guaranteed paid hours, scheduled around your classes. Strong performers may be offered an eight-week extension of two to six hours a week, agreed in advance.
Pay
US$18.40 an hour, or the higher applicable state or local minimum wage. Every required minute is paid, including onboarding, outreach, follow-up, reporting and authorized travel. Pay never depends on a registration, referral or sale.
About KOTS
KOTS is a personal styling app. It learns the wardrobe someone already owns, puts outfits together for their actual week and helps them judge what is worth buying. Its catalog contains more than 240,000 items from 458 brands and retailers across the United Kingdom, United States and United Arab Emirates.
The role
You will meet people who work in fashion and retail, usually in person near your university. You will introduce them to KOTS, demonstrate the product and give them a link so they can decide for themselves.
This is field marketing. You will not be required to post on social media, appear on camera or promote KOTS to your followers.
Responsibilities
• Complete paid onboarding on the product, pitch and approved claims
• Identify and visit relevant retail and fashion businesses near campus
• Introduce KOTS in person and demonstrate the product
• Share the approved information, then let each person decide in their own time
• Follow up on conversations you have started
• Record your activity and paid hours accurately each week
You will never be asked to:
• upload another person’s contact details
• pressure a colleague, friend or employer
• post promotional content on your social accounts
• work unpaid hours or on a commission-only basis
Essential
• Enrolled at a United States college or university
• At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
• Comfortable starting a conversation with someone you have not met
• Able to explain something clearly and listen to the answer
• Reliable with scheduling and honest reporting
Useful, but not required
• Interest in fashion, retail, marketing or sales
• Familiarity with the retail landscape in your city
• Customer-facing experience
No sales experience is required. Training is paid.
