Commercial Industrial Corp is a civil contractor in Ocala, FL that is modernizing how we work. We’re adding AI and automation to our back-office operations, and we’re looking for a curious, motivated intern to help lead the effort.
What you’ll work on:
- Mapping our accounts payable and invoice approval process and finding bottlenecks
- Evaluating and testing AI tools for invoice capture, data entry, and approval routing
- Building and documenting automated workflows with our accounting team
- Recommending other areas where AI can save time across the business
Who we’re looking for:
- Students in construction management, information systems, accounting, business analytics, industrial engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable with Excel and quick to learn new software
- Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.), automation platforms, or basic scripting is a plus
- Clear communicator who can explain technical ideas to non-technical people
- Interest in construction is a plus, though no experience is required

This is a paid position starting at $20.00 per hour, with compensation based on the candidate’s level of experience and proficiency with AI tools and Microsoft Excel.
We understand that college schedules can vary, so we offer flexibility in both scheduling and employment structure. While the position is currently listed as permanent, we are open to considering candidates seeking a temporary opportunity as well.
The position may be structured as either full-time or part-time, and we are willing to work around class schedules and other academic commitments. Our goal is to provide a flexible opportunity that allows the right candidate to gain valuable hands-on experience while continuing their education.
