Position – Head Lifeguard
Seasonal – $18 an Hour
25-30 hours a week June 24th – September 4th
10-15 hours a week May 30th – June 23rd and September 5th – 15th
Purpose / Position Overview
General Responsibilities
- Lead the aquatics staff in the safe operation of the pool, splashpad, canoe pond, and bumper boats during camps, guest groups and night swims.
- Foster a positive environment with an emphasis on communication and team building.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager with daily inservice training and the continuing education of the lifeguarding staff.
- Assist the Aquatics Manager and Facilities Engineer in maintaining a chemically balanced pool and splash pad.
- Lead and support the aquatics staff in the cleaning and maintenance of aquatics facilities. (Cleaning filters, maintaining pool deck and lifeguard office)
- Check Lifejackets for damage and organize them on a regular basis.
- Monitor aquatics consumables and alert the Aquatics Manager to low levels. (i.e. gloves, swim check bracelets, first aid consumables, chem check consumables)
- Monitor aquatics elements and equipment for safety hazards and assist the Aquatics Managers in addressing the problem.
- Assist Aquatics Manager with scheduling to staff the pool, canoe pond, and bumper boats for camps and guest groups.

Education / Experience /Desired &/or required
- Red Cross Lifeguard Certified
- Red Cross Lifeguard Trainer Certified Preferred
