Just Take One Step—We’ll Make it Easy!

It’s on your to do list—“Think about career”—and we’ve got you covered!

Whether you are a first-year student, a senior, or anywhere in between, it all starts with just one step. So, where do you start? Take a look at some options below and see what fits:

  • See a Career Advisor: Come to Drop-In from 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday in Lillis 155 and get real-time help with your resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile. If you are looking for a little more direction or individualized help, make an appointment with a Career Advisor and get started on developing a career exploration plan or strategizing your job search.
  • Search for Jobs and Internships on Handshake: You can access your Handshake account with your Duck ID. Then, click on “Make Your Profile Stand Out” and follow the prompts, so that you get notifications about internships, jobs, and events that interest you.
  • Explore Career Paths: There are LOTS of events to choose from this term! From the BizPaths student panels, to accounting’s Meet the Firms, to BizCareers in Finance, Banking, and Real Estate—there’s something for everyone. Events are a great way to learn more about different industries. Bring a friend and check out an event. It’s a low-stakes way to take a look at some of the possibilities out there.
  • Connect with Clubs: If you are starting out at the UO, or just feeling ready to get a bit more involved, check out the Lundquist Clubs. These organizations offer wonderful opportunities to meet people with similar interests, learn more about different careers, and leadership/committee positions can be great ways to build your resume.

So, take your pick, but get in the game! YOU make your career happen, but there are many, many resources and people to help you along the way.
