Before You Apply

Have a strong, complete LinkedIn profile

  • Include a professional photo and a short, brand-consistent, and memorable headline.
  • Write a brief headline that tells the essence of your story and gives a sense of your personality or voice.
  • Provide full, evidence-based descriptions for each of your experience entries using either paragraph or bullet form.
  • Include your current degree program and center affiliation (if applicable) in the education section.

How to Request

  1. Sign up for and use the month-long free trial of Premium Career. Familiarize yourself with the benefits.
  2. Develop a plan for using your Premium Career account. Think about how you would like to use each of the premium features and set some goals for your first month. We’ll ask for this in the application.
  3. Write a sample outreach email. We’ll also ask for this in the application. The outreach letter should:
    1. Be clear, concise and with minimal grammatical errors.
    2. Establish a connection not just with the company but with the person you are addressing.
    3. Provide clear next steps and makes it easier for the contact to say yes.
  4. Follow the University of Oregon – Charles H. Lundquist College of Business on LinkedIn.
  5. Complete the application form.
  6. We’ll review your application and your LinkedIn profile.
  7. If you are approved, we’ll provide details on how to request reimbursement. If your application or profile still needs work, we’ll let you know what you need to work on before being approved for funding.
