Funding for Conference/Event Attendance and Travel

Mohr Career Services offers stipends to offset costs related to travel and lodging for in-person events, as well as both in-person and virtual registration fees. For any questions, please contact Jessica Best at bestje@uoregon.edu.

Thanks to generous donors, Mohr Career Services provides support for Lundquist undergraduate and graduate students to attend industry-based conferences and competitions to facilitate more and better career opportunities.

Funding is prioritized for conferences and events in the United States. Funding requests for international destinations will be considered, but must have a direct connection to increasing employment outcomes.

These funds are not available to support program-sponsored group travel (for example: MBA experiential trips).

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to receive these funds, students must:

  • Be declared business administration, accounting or pre-business majors or Eugene-based graduate students in MBA, MAcc, MSF, or MSM degree programs.
  • Have not yet met their degree requirements by the start of the event and must be in good academic standing.
  • Have not yet received a stipend from this fund in this academic year (July 1 – June 30).
  • Disclose any other sources of funding they’re receiving.  This includes things like having the conference fee waived or receiving funds from a club, but you don’t have to include any support you’re getting from friends or family.
  • Agree to allow us to check financial need status. Priority will be given to students with financial need in the award process.
  • Submit proof of participation and a short reflection on what they learned from the opportunity.

Students who are participating in trips sponsored by Lundquist clubs, can’t afford the trip fee, and who meet the criteria above are encouraged to apply for these funds for that purpose.

As with all scholarships, these funds may impact your existing financial aid award. If this is a concern, you should consult an advisor in the UO Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
