The Department of Physics is an instructional and research department within the College of Arts and Sciences that supports significant research activities in a wide range of fields in the Physics discipline. The department includes approximately 35 teaching faculty in addition to emeritus faculty, research staff, graduate students, and professional/administrative staff. The department enrolls approximately 2,000 students per term, with approximately 200 undergraduate Physics majors and 100 graduate students. This position is a basic Physics Lab Assistant for the Physics Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered for 8 or more credits at the University of Oregon
- Maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and cloud-based file sharing
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of certain Physics classes may be needed
Duties:
- Lab work at the direction of the student employee supervisor
- Additional tasks and projects as assigned
