Machine Operator: Skid-Steer operator and nursery irrigation maintenance
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This associate will be operating a skid-steer to perform the nurseries’ daily tasks which include loading/ unloading plant material, loading mulch/ loam, and grading as needed. Also requires skid steers daily maintenance (greasing, washing, cleaning and fueling), upkeep of the irrigation system, coordinating hand watered areas, and ensure the nursery remains neat and tidy.
General Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and medical card
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and locate plant material in the yard
- Physical abilities include working in weather conditions such as the heat, cold, and rain. Walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and unload plant materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to manage high stress and fast paced environment
- Required to be clean and neat to have a professional appearance
- Work independently on assigned nursery tasks
- Proactively identify work that needs to be done and following through to completion
- Ability to work respectively as a team with co-workers
- Timely and dependable attendance
- Energetic, friendly, self-motivated
- Day time and weekend availability
Specific Qualifications:
- 2-5 years’ operating a skid-steer in a nursery setting
- Drip and Overhead irrigation system knowledge
- Plant Identification
