On October 15, I attended the BizCareers Panel Discussion and Networking Reception focused on Finance, Banking, and Real Estate.
Finding passion in the classroom and through clubs gives great insight into what core skills and knowledge are utilized in these careers.
In case you missed it, here are my biggest takeaways from the event:
First, I attended a panel discussion, which was a fantastic way to learn about career paths and get professional development tips from University of Oregon alumni Ashwin Radhakrishnan, Lauren Brown, Cara Nolan, and Danielle Schwimer. The panelists also helped provided valuable insight into how skills I’m learning in finance, banking, and real estate through clubs can apply to future careers.
Then, during the networking event in the atrium, I had the opportunity to connect with 25 different companies. Speaking with recruiters and representatives who were eager to engage with me created an inviting atmosphere, and I walked away from this event with not only an expanded network, but also a stronger sense of confidence in my future career.
Next, I’m excited to attend the Industry “Brunch” Bites: Outdoor and Apparel coming up on October 24, and I encourage all interested students to give it a try!
