Meet Our Career Strategy Team

Grace Haya (she/they)
I’m excited to offer tailored guidance to help you explore career opportunities and reach your professional goals. I graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Biochemistry and Psychology. Before joining the career team at Lundquist, I worked as a TRiO advisor for over three years supporting low-income and first-generation students. I love reading, skiing, and exploring Oregon (though I’m still a hiking newbie). Outside of work, you can find me growing my houseplant collection, and I’m always on the lookout for new books—let me know your favorite reads!

Jessica Best (she/her)
A proud Double-Duck with a bachelor’s degree in English from UO and first-generation college student who transferred to UO, I understand how challenging it can be to navigate college and career development. I used to feel like everyone else knew things that I didn’t and that asking for help was “cheating.”  I think that is why I’m passionate about helping students uncover hidden processes and build confidence in their career journeys.

Jiayin Zhou (she/her)
I discovered my passion for career empowerment during my time at Vanderbilt University, where I earned a Master of Education in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. At the Lundquist College, I provide one-on-one career advising, lead workshops, manage content projects, teach the internship course BA404 and BA606, and support the Professional Edge program. I primarily serve undergraduate business students, with a special focus on supporting the international student community. My favorite part of my work is seeing you grow in confidence and building meaningful connections along the way. Outside of work, you might spot me at the Saturday Market, on hiking trails, or at the bouldering gym!

Laura von Stockhausen (she/her)
I still can’t believe I get to combine my coaching skills, sports marketing experience, and love for all things Ducks to help students live their best lives. I fell in love with coaching as a UO undergrad and later earned my Master’s in Sports Coaching from the University of Stirling in Scotland. Since 2018, I’ve been helping students navigate their career journeys here at Lundquist. Want to make a genuine connection? Just ask me about Bay Area sports!

Ursala Garbrecht (she/her)
I enjoy coaching students one-on-one to tell compelling stories, boost their confidence, and reach their career ready goals. I’m a proud UO alum and have spent the past decade as a resume writer and job search coach based out of Portland where I helped professionals across industries and career levels. Now that I’m back in Eugene, I enjoy the lush greenery, healthy food options, and the thriving arts community. Ask me about choir or my two cats!
