Meet the Newest Members of the Team
Ursala Garbrecht (she/her)
Ursala specializes in supporting graduate students on their path to career success. A proud UO alum, she has spent the last 10 years as a resume writer and job search coach. Ursula is excited to bring her experience supporting professionals across career levels, industries, and sectors to Lundquist students. After serving clients remotely for the past four years from rural Idaho, she is excited to be back in Eugene to enjoy the greenery, eat healthy foods, and connect with the arts, music and dance communities.
Jiayin Zhou (she/her)
Jiayin (pronounced Juh-ing) specializes in supporting international students in their career preparation. Previously, Jiayin served as a program manager at a nonprofit organization supporting the liberal arts education of rural high school students in China. She also worked as an educator at the Country Music Hall of Fame and discovered her passion for career empowerment during her time at Vanderbilt University, where she earned her Master of Education degree in Human Development Studies. Outside of work, she loves photography, creative design, discovering new restaurants, and exploring the outdoors.
Grace Haya (she/they)
Grace offers tailored support to help students explore their professional goals and career paths. After graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Psychology, they worked as a grant specialist for TRiO at Texas State University and later served as a TRiO Advisor at Lane Community College. In both roles, Grace focused on supporting low-income and first-generation students, helping them navigate higher education and apply to four-year universities. Outside of work, they enjoy reading, crocheting, and exploring Oregon (though they are still a hiking newbie!). She is always looking for new books to dive into and is currently working on growing her collection of houseplants.
Familiar Faces, Still Here to Support You
Laura von Stockhausen (she/her)
Laura still has a hard time believing that a job exists where she can combine her coaching skills, sports marketing experience, and love for all things Ducks to help students live their best lives. She fell in love with coaching during her time as an undergraduate student at UO, and ultimately pursued her master’s degree in Sports Coaching from the University of Stirling in Scotland. Laura leveraged her career in coaching and sports marketing into making the pivot back to UO as a career advisor in 2018. If you want to make a genuine connection with Laura, just ask her about Bay Area sports!
Jessica Best (she/her)
Jessica leads the career team and is thrilled to be reconnecting with Lundquist’s programs and students. While the new members grow into their roles, Jessica is still available for appointments and is always eager to help you reach your potential. Her favorite part of the job? Supporting students as they discover what they’re capable of.
