Fall Term may be over, but that doesn’t mean that all is quiet on the Accounting Recruiting front! Depending on your academic year and current goals, Winter Term is another active recruiting term. This term, Public Accounting firms will be:
- Recruiting for Summer Leadership Programs (SLPs), brief 1-2 day unpaid programs that provide an opportunity to get a preview of a specific firm. Typically required: an application, resume, cover letter, and an interview (if selected).
- FAQs regarding summer programs:
- Q: Why such an in-depth process for such a brief program?
- A: Because firms look at these SLP programs as a pipeline for internship recruitment.
- Q: Can you complete more than one SLP?
- A: Yes! This can give you a chance to compare the firms and their specific cultures.
- FAQs regarding summer programs:
Public, Corporate, and Government firms will be:
- Recruiting to fill internship slots for Summer 2023 and some full-time associate roles as well. There are still some slots available, so watch Handshake and the Accounting Digest for application deadlines.
- Looking forward to meeting you at the in-person Meet the Students event planned for the end of January. Firms are looking to make an impression on fledgling accounting students. They expect:
- Students to be prepared to introduce themselves and ask thoughtful questions.
- Resumes in hand—including GPA and CPA Eligibility dates (if you are interested in Public Accounting).
- Students to know the difference between tax, audit, and advisory—even if you are not sure which one you want to pursue yet.
